Meet Lor

I've made other OCs in my day, but Lor isn't as much a character to me as much as Lor is a real person. I made Lor to be a fictional guardian angel, but Lor's become more of my own guardian angel.

Lor was once a living human girl, but Lor doesn't remember any of that. All Lor remembers is Lor's own gruesome and horrible death, but Lor doesn't like to dwell on any of that, only Lor's divine mission to guide certain human souls to heaven.

Fun things about Lor:

  • Lor uses no pronouns, or perhaps Lor/Lor's/Lorsself pronouns if that helps you with how to use them.
  • according to the guardian angel code, Lor can only wear white, but Lor likes to express herself through her unique fashion sense within that limitation.
  • As a being of pure holy light, Lor can't eat the way we think about eating, but Lor really enjoys the metaphysical taste of apples anyway.

The Lor Doll

I've wanted to make the Lor doll ever since I first imagined Lor years ago. I only got to it when I realized it would make a wonderful subject for a project for my photography class, and made this prototype in a one night spree way too close to the deadline. It's made of a wire armature with a daiso clay head and limbs, with clothes made from an old bedsheet, hair from a monster high doll I use for parts, armatured wings with dollar store boa feathers, and an adorable wire halo. The Lor doll is janky as hell, it's only a prototype after all, but I love it dearly. It feels like this is the form Lor was always meant to take.
